La Jolla

This past week my family and I headed up to La Jolla for spring break.

La Jolla is in San Diego, which is roughly a three and a half hour drive from Santa Barbara. La Jolla is very similar to Santa Barbara, with its beautiful beaches, stunning views, and amazing landmarks.

My family wanted to get away for the week, so we decided to go to La Jolla because it’s different from home, but not too different. We rented a house down there on the beach with another family. This was a perfect choice because the house was just the right size for all of us, and if you opened the front door and walked a couple of steps, your feet were in the sand! Overall it was great.

This trip was awesome. Most of the trip was spent by the ocean or pool swimming. We also got to explore different areas of the beaches. The weather was super nice so it was easy to just lay out a towel and relax.

One day of the trip we weren’t quite sure what to do, so I decided to do some research about the city and see what I could find. I found this amazing place called “The Flower Fields” and we decided to go. The flower fields are 50 acres of beautifully bloomed flowers all different shades of colors. My friend Kayla and I explored it for quite a while just admiring all the flowers and realizing that spring has finally sprung! We took pictures along the way but pictures don’t do it as much  justice.

Another day of the trip we decided we wanted to do something adventurous. I did a little bit more research, and found an awesome indoor skydiving place! We booked our appointments and drove straight there. Once we got there, we got suited up in jumpsuits, goggles, ear plugs, helmets, and were ready to go. Well first we had to get a little tutorial on how to do it, but then we were ready to go. It was gnarly. You are soaring in a giant container with air flying at you at 100mph. It was definitely an experience I won’t forget. But next time, I won’t be skydiving indoors…

This trip was amazing. I got to try new things, go new places, and eat new foods. Overall I’m glad I went and would definitely recommend La Jolla as a fun little getaway.

I cannot wait for my next adventure. Comment suggestions of places you love to go to that I should go visit!

Thanks, J
